New Living in Old Spaces

"I have the simplest tastes, I am always satisfied with the best." - Oscar Wilde

In Baltimore’s historic Mt. Washington neighborhood, two adjoining rooms take on distinct personalities while sharing a sense of nostalgia, warmth, and history.  Once home to Governor Harry Nice, this is a house full of memories and history so this approach seemed fitting.  Here, a literary sitting room with a modern Gothic edge meets a relaxed, coastal-inspired family room, each layered with thoughtful materials, vintage finds, and treasured pieces from the family’s own collection. Rooted in the home’s original architecture, the spaces feel personal, collected, and as though they’ve always belonged.
